Students should respect beliefsYou know, writing a letter to the editor should be a simple voice of opinion that warrants fair treatment and respect from others. I see that not everyone believes this, as I have received a fair amount of e-mails regarding my last letter to the Exponent. I didn't write the letter and sign my name to it in a campus-wide publication to have people hunt me down on the Purdue computer directory and send me e-mails. Regardless, if you agree or disagree, you have no right to harass those who have written letters. Grab a pen, get online or call the Exponent with a rebuttal, but don't call or e-mail someone who wrote a letter that you happen to disagree with. As for my previous letter, I would like to amend that satire and humor can fail on an audience. That is simply what happened. Jeanne Feldt senior, School of Liberal Arts |
