Nomination of 'South Park' song insults Canadians, their country

I find it rather insulting to see a song "Blame Canada" which completely mocks Canadians be nominated for an Oscar award. Does that show that we now award the insulting of another country or for that matter another group of people? I, having spent most of my life in Canada, find it rather insulting and distasteful for being written in the first place. It seems as though many people lack proper education about Canada and have failed to recognize how significant the country is. I'd have loved to see the reaction of Americans had the situation be reversed.
