Student riot embarrasses alumnusMan oh man. I was elated as I read about Purdue's win over Gonzaga. Then I read further down on the Web site and saw the headlines about riot police shooting tear gas into a crowd in West Lafayette. While I don't mean to take away anything from the team, let's face it people, it's not a National Championship. It's not even the Final Four. It's a win over an overrated Cinderella team. As I sweat out life here in the land of the Cornhuskers, (and believe me, these people are FANATICS, but as far as I know, they've never rioted after they've won their football titles) I'm always proud to tell people I went to Purdue. Today I can't say that. Robert Lewis Purdue alumnus |
