The Black Cultural Center (BCC) is a place where Purdue students can celebrate and experience African-American culture. The BCC is open to all students, regardless of race, and includes a computer lab, a library, an extensive art collection, meeting spaces and many other feature. There are also four art groups that meet through the BCC: Black Voices of Inspiration, Jahari Dance Troupe, Haraka Writers and New Directional Players. On Aug. 24, the BCC will offer Boilerfest, an orientation for new students.

The Purdue Bell Tower was constructed in 1995 and contains the century old bells from the original Heavilon Hall Tower. The tower was designed by Sasaki Associates and is made of 160 feet of steel and brick.

Founders Park, dedicated in 1994, is located between the Liberal Arts and Education Building, Matthews Hall and University Hall. The park is a favorite for many students who congregate around the fountain between classes.

The Purdue Mall Fountain is a 38-foot concrete water sculpture and was dedicated in 1989. At night, 280 colored lights illuminate the water.

University Hall, the oldest building on campus, was built in 1877 and houses the history department.

The Purdue Memorial Union opened in 1924 and serves as a monument to the men and women of Purdue who died in World War I. An inland floor cross, located in the Union's Great Hall, commemorates the students killed in that war.

Windsor Hall is one of the oldest residence halls on campus; it is made up of five halls: Duhme, Shealy, Vawter, Warren and Wood. Most students live in a residence hall for at least one year.
