Purdue buys new planes
By Laura Pelner The Purdue aviation technology department will be receiving a fleet of 14 new basic training planes this summer. One of the new planes is already on campus and five more will be arriving this weekend. The rest of the planes will be coming later in July and in August. The new planes are made by the Piper Aircraft Corporation and are Warrior III models. Larry Gross, the director of flight training, explained that these models are the basic trainers used for beginning students. Free concert will be heldOn the Fourth of July, the sky above West Lafayette will be illuminated with the vibrant colors of fireworks exploding in mid-air. For over 15 years, large crowds have flocked to West Lafayette to celebrate Independence Day with the Stars and Stripes Concert.
