Raunchy movie stems from scary movie spoof

From the mind of Keenen Ivory Wayans, comes the most raunchy movie known to man, "Scary Movie."

A combination of spoofs from "Scream," "Scream 2," "The Sixth Sense," "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "The Matrix'" creates the funniest movie of the year 2000.

The entire movie surrounds around the character of Cindy, portrayed by newcomer Anna Faris, who discovers that all of her friends are the subject of an evil mass murder plot. Sound familiar?

The movie begins with the same opening to "Scream", in which Drew Decker, played by Carmen Electra, is terrorized by the masked killer. From there, however, the entire movie is just one spoof after another.

The movie, which basically has no plot and doesn’t need one, is unlike its horror movie sisters with the "Who is the killer?" motif, but has the feeling "Who are they going to spoof next?" In one moment, the same scenes from "I Know What You Did Last Summer" can change to "The Usual Suspects."

Also starring in the movie are Marlon and Shawn Wayans, Shannon Elizabeth, and Cheri Oteri from Saturday Night Live. Oteri plays an annoying reporter based off of Courtney Cox’s character from "Scream."

The movie that was almost rated NC-17 was also the number one highest grossing R-rated movie in an opening weekend. If you thought "South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut" and "There’s Something About Mary" were raunchy, don’t hold your horses yet. Scary Movie takes what makes a movie NC-17 to the edge and dangles it off.

The movie features three full frontal nudity shots and shows drug use in almost every other scene. Shawn Wayans’ character, Shorty, smokes pot with the killer in one scene and is nearly high throughout the entire movie.

Despite the use, it gives some entertaining scenes for the crowd to enjoy. Another character, Deputy Doofy, played by Dave Sheridan, is a handicapped person who pretends to be a police officer. He provides tons of funny moments when the focus is off the main characters.

Most of the scenes, however, are too raunchy to be expressed even in this newspaper. But the movie will express itself with the spoofs and crazy scenes that Keenen Ivory Wayans sets up. His version of the typical horror movie brings out every little thing that people love about them.

If you wish to have a fun and entertaining time, the movie "Scary Movie" is definitely one to watch. But don’t bring the kiddies to it, even if they claim they are old enough to be 17.
