Board discusses issue booths
From Staff Reports
On Wednesday night the Purdue Student Government
Central Board held its first meeting of the semester.
Brenda Shea, Purdue Student Government chief of
staff, discussed plans for a week of issue booths that will include
a different booth and mural for each day of the week beginning Jan 22.
The planned booths are environmental issues for
Monday, gender issues for Tuesday, health and sexuality issues for Wednesday,
political issues for Thursday and ethical issues for Friday.
Shea also said that plans for a concert during
Grand Prix weekend are to be announced at the next PSG Senate Meeting
at 7 p.m. Jan. 17 in Stewart Center, Room 214 ABC.
Also planned is a Purdue Village Mentoring Program
and PSGs online roommate finder service set to launch in February
preceded by a publicity campaign.
Ryan Hatton, Purdue Student Government student
body director, discussed petitions for five to eight student director
positions available in PSG. Anyone in the student body can apply. Applications
are available in either the PSG office in Stewart Center, Room G6, or
online at www.expert.cc.purdue.edu/~psg where they can be downloaded.
Finished applications can be turned into the PSG office. The petitions
are due on Jan. 16 and interviews are scheduled for Jan 18. The new
staff will be in place by Jan. 24. For further information contact PSG
at 494-7201.
