Students should deal with challenges

This letter is in reference to both Jan. 10 Exponent letters to the editor by Kyle Plesniak. It appears that the Purdue extension campus at Hammond is a virtual "Nirvana." If this is the case, Mr. Plesniak, and I was you, I would go back.

The problem here isn't so much that you've chosen to complain about something; it's the fact that you are complaining about these things. It is hoped that someday it will dawn on all those who attend college that education was intended to teach us about diversity and how to deal with it. Life is a series of challenges … complications, delays, interruptions, etc. Our job as humans is to figure out how to overcome these obstacles and move on — trying all along not to worry over that which we have no control.

The workers digging outside your window at the Quad are on their way to improving the living conditions for you and those after you. Furthermore, keep in mind that you are one of roughly 35,000 students who take final exams at the end of each semester. Scheduling that number of people to take that many tests is a near impossibility, yet a group of "wizards" on the Purdue staff seem to figure it out every time.

In summation … suck it up and deal! Could it be that the "glaring inferiority with this campus" is your attitude?
