Purdue finishes second in Doug Raymond invite

The Purdue men’s indoor track and field team finished second Saturday at the Doug Raymond Invitational with a score of 210.

Penn State won with a total of 217.50.

Chris Brown picked up two wins for the Boilermaker squad. He won the shot put competition with a toss of 58-.25. Then Brown won the 35-pound weight throw with a mark of 63-7.

Shaun Guice cleared 7-2.5 in the high jump for a first place finish. In the triple jump, Daniel Harris’ mark of 49-5 earned him a first place win.

Jacques Reeves, a cornerback for the Boilermaker football team, won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.85. He placed third in the 200 with a time of 21.58.

Markus Williams’ time of 47.66 was good for a second place finish in the 400. Jeff Minks was second in the 800 with a time of 1:51.33. Tito Downer picked up a third place finish in the 3,000 with a time of 8:30.58.

In the 60 hurdles, Prentice Stovall was second with a time of 8.18. Chris Boesch finished third in the mile with a time of 4:15.35. Jeff Gilbert’s leap of 15-11 in the pole vault garnered him a second place finish.
