Provost candidates to speak at forumsBy Laura Pelner The first of the four candidates for provost will be on campus today and will participate in events that have never before been part of the selection process of a Purdue University official. By Laura Pelner While he's worked for the Purdue Research Foundation, its total assets more than tripled in value, though now he says it's time for him to move on. Jeffrey Wilson is the senior vice president and treasurer of the research foundation, which controls the Purdue Research Park. On Monday, Wilson announced that he will retire on June 30 after working for Purdue and the research foundation for 36 years. Chinese students must observe New Year in class
Even though today is the biggest holiday of the Chinese calendar, students who observe this holiday still must go to all of their early classes, turn in papers and take exams. Today marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year 4, 699; the year of the snake, which is the Oriental equivalent to Christmas, said William Huang, president of the Taiwan Student Association and a junior in the Schools of Engineering. |
