Student gives coaching ideas

After watching the IU game, I came to a few conclusions. First, Carson Cunningham has not been playing very well lately and, like Coach Keady did last year after the Ball State loss, I think he should not start Cunningham for one game and start Austin Parkinson in his place since he has been playing well. Secondly, shot selection has not been very good lately especially for Lewis and Cunningham at times. Lewis tries to drive and shoot, but if he drove and passed, I think that would open up some better shots and Cunningham attempts too many off-balance shots and it seems like his luck of making them has ran out. Finally, I think Coach Keady should try some big lineups with two guards, two forwards, and a center rather then the three guards and two big guys. This would help rebounding and defense against the bigger opponents; it seemed to work well the few minutes you used it in a game earlier this year. Brett Buscher, Austin Parkinson, Kenny Lowe and Willie Deane may all be young players, but they are talents in progress nonetheless. I hope to see lots of playing time for them. Hope to see some improvement at the game this weekend. Go Boilers!
