Staff notices student's good deed

As we were leaving Stewart Center Friday morning at about 11:25 a.m. the snow was falling heavily. We observed a young man in a wheelchair struggling to make progress in the snow-covered sidewalk. Several people hurried past. Another young man coming from the opposite direction, turned, came back, leaned down and said, "Where you headed" as he took hold of the wheelchair and began to push it through the snow. Too many times we see and hear about young people thinking only of themselves. This was a true act of thoughtfulness and selflessness. To the "good Samaritan" we would like to say two things. First and foremost, you made your mother proud. Second, you brought some sunshine into the snowy day of some, sometimes cynical, staff members. Thank you.
