Student defends Bush's decisionI am writing in response to the article written on Jan. 23 regarding President Bush's decision to 'limit abortions.' I'm frightened that even one Purdue student actually took the Exponent's article as fact and wrote back in favor of the ill-researched article. President Bush discontinued foreign aid to abortion-providing clinics. The director of Planned Parenthood stated it as if we U.S. citizens would lose our right to choose. The left wing would like for everyone to believe that President Bush's action is some new, radical move that is going to eventually turn over the Roe vs. Wade decision. Wake up! He's just returning to a policy that his father and President Reagan both implemented. One shouldnt feel irate that PUSH charges for services and Planned Parenthood doesnt, either. Tax dollars and donations fund Planned Parenthood. They barely cover our education here at Purdue. I read the Exponent daily but would never trust it as a source that reflects all the facts. Perhaps it could regain my confidence if its writers actually sought out all the facts before writing a front-page article on such a subject. Mary Putsey Senior, School of Management |
