Coroner's office awaits
test results in students'
deaths
From Staff Reports
The autopsy results of the student who died Saturday
afternoon did not reveal the cause of his death.
Travis Simpson, a sophomore in the Schools of Engineering,
was found unconscious in his apartment at approximately 4:25 p.m. on
Saturday.
Jane Haan, the deputy coroner for Tippecanoe County,
said the cause of death is still unknown, and that the coroner is now
waiting for the results of a toxicology report.
"We should know within two weeks what the toxicology
reports say," said Haan.
The coroner's office is also waiting for results
of tests for Laura Williams. Williams, a junior in the School of Consumer
and Family Sciences, was found dead in her room Jan. 22.
Toxicology reports for Williams were inconclusive
in determining a cause of death. Microscopic tests are being conducted
on her heart and lung tissue.
