Senior weight thrower sets new Boilermaker record at Iowa State

Senior All-American Chris Brown placed second in the weight throw at the Iowa State Classic Saturday, breaking a Purdue record with a toss of 71-02. That mark, which automatically qualifies Brown for the NCAA Championships, is the third best in the country and best in the Big Ten this season.

Brown's throw bettered his old school record of 67-07.50 (20.61m), set Feb. 12, 2000.
