Advertisement degrades women

This letter is in regards to the advertisement for "Boy Toyz" adult entertainment in the Feb. 8 edition of the Exponent. This advertisement has no place in our school newspaper. It is extremely degrading to women. The ad shows a woman’s body in a bikini and doesn’t even show her head. Excluding the woman’s head is dehumanizing and turns her into an object. In addition, it is implied by the title of the company that these women are not even people; they are merely toys. It is extremely disappointing that the Exponent agreed to run such a degrading advertisement. Please use better discretion in the future and show more respect for women.
