Napster holds great importanceThe headlines said it all: "Napster to be shut down." Those words may not have meant much to some people, but to millions of college students and music buffs young and old, they were a blow to the chest. I am one of the numerous on campus who are crushed. With artists such as Dave Matthews, Moby, Fred Durst, and even B.B. King supporting our beloved Napster, why should it go? Napster is as important as Instant Messenger and Microsoft Word. It is a necessity. It is something that should not go away. It's true, I've been on a downloading binge since the news broke Monday evening. But I've decided to go a step further. Instead of waiting like a deer in headlights for the day Napster just won't connect, I'm pushing for the day it won't happen. How? By writing to local Congressmen. The West Lafayette area has several to write to. They are your voice in the nation's capital; use it! The next time you are waiting for a download, take a minute to write a letter and take a step to save the program you love. Rep.
