Grammy winner to give postponed performance

The country bluegrass performance of Ricky Skaggs and his band, Kentucky Thunder, is rescheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday in the Long Center in Lafayette.

The concert, originally scheduled for Feb. 2, was postponed because one of Skaggs’ children was hospitalized, said Larry Sommers, the assistant director of marketing for Purdue Convocations.

He said Skaggs’ son is recuperating, and the musician is scheduled to travel to Lafayette.

Tickets for Skaggs, who won a Grammy Award Wednesday night, are still available.

Admission is $23 for Purdue students and $28 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at Purdue box offices or charged by phone at 494-3933 or (800) 914-SHOW.
