Purdue receives praise for behaviorI am sure by now some of the excitement of this year's activities in Pasadena has worn off, and the good folks in West Lafayette are settling in for the remainder of winter. If that is the case, let me share with you just a little more sunshine from California. Specifically, I wanted to write to let you know how much the Tournament of Roses appreciated the students and staff that represented Purdue University in Pasadena. The players, band members and staff could not have done a better job or represented the University in a more exemplary manner. They were always positive polite and respectful, and perhaps even more important to the Tournament, they all appeared to be genuinely appreciative of what had been arranged for them and the work that had been done on their behalf by Tournament volunteers and staff. It is somewhat unusual to have Tournament members comment about how impressed they were with visiting students. However, that has been the case on a number of occasions this year. Having worked in a college environment myself, I thought you would appreciate knowing just how much we here in Pasadena appreciated everyone associated with Purdue University. Thanks for your participation and best wishes to all for the coming year. John M. Dorger |
