West Lafayette mayor Sonya Margerum will speak at Purdue in honor of Women's History Month.
The event will take place at 7 tonight in Stewart Center, Room 214D.
Margerum is the second in a series of speakers that Purdue Student Government arranged to have speak on campus in honor of the celebrated month.
"We wanted to have a series of speakers that would represent different spheres of women's reality, particularly for students," said Carina Atherton-Lira, executive director of PSG. She said both men and women are invited to attend.
The first speaker in the series was Julia Vaughn of the Indiana Healthcare Coalition. Vaughn delivered a woman's viewpoint of healthcare in society, said Atherton-Lira.

Purdue Student Government is wasting the students' money.
That is one reason why Damon Hall, a junior in the School of Agriculture, said he is running for student body president. "We absolutely see a need for change," said Hall. "A lot of this is about money about the budget of Purdue Student Government. The focus of student government is not easily discernable according to the way it spends its money on the students."
Hall's running mate Elizabeth Gattman, a sophomore in the School of Nursing and the vice presidential candidate said PSG needs to become more of a resource for students.
