| Pearl Jam remains true to fans In a music world where pop and rap acts like Britney Spears, *NSYNC and Eminem dominate, it's comforting to know that bands such as U2, Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band and Aerosmith still exist and are providing breaths of fresh air for those who stay true to rock. There is one band, however, that goes above and beyond when it comes to the appreciation of rock music and its many loyal fans. Pearl Jam exploded out of the Seattle grunge scene in 1991 with their debut album Ten and quickly became one of the most popular bands in the world. Their success continued to grow throughout the '90s with the releases of "Vs.," "Vitalogy," "No Code" and "Yield." Throughout their 10-year career, Pearl Jam has always remained true to their music and, more importantly, their fans. The Ten Club, Pearl Jams official fan club, retains its "fans first" policy when it comes to anything from merchandise to concert tickets. The band also makes sure that the ticket prices are within reason ($30 to $35). But Pearl Jams most recent endeavor, their release of 72 "official bootlegs" from their 2000 tour of Europe and the U.S., has been the ultimate gift for any PJ fanatic like myself. If one is a member of the Ten Club, you can purchase the shows at a discounted price of $10.98, via the club Web site, as opposed to the $16.98 list price. Better yet, fan club members could purchase the bootlegs a month before they hit the stores. Also, with a DVD documenting the 2000 tour set for an April 10 release and an archival record of b-sides and rarities coming sometime before Christmas, Pearl Jam has definitely given back to their fans more than any other band.
