Readers misinterpret political genres

In light of all the recent discussion about liberalism, socialism and conservatism, I would simply like to remind the readers of what exactly constitutes these political genres.

The true "hardcore" liberal strongly supports personal self-government but wants limited economic self-government. While some may not realize it, many "liberals" may actually fall closer to the category of socialism because they also believe in more limited personal self-government. However, one can believe in very restricted economic self-government and still remain a liberal, not a socialist. Therefore one should avoid such labeling of political genres to maintain some degree of credibility.
