Police investigate allegations
of rape, two batteries

The Purdue Police Department is investigating an
alleged rape case that was reported over the weekend.
Ronald Fosnaugh, the captain of special services,
said in a release that a female Purdue student told police she was raped
by an acquaintance in Tarkington Residence Hall at approximately 2 a.m.
Sunday.
Purdue Police are also investigating two alleged
incidences of battery. According to a University release, a male resident
of McCutcheon Residence Hall reported being pushed and beaten by another
male at the residence hall's northwest entry around 10 p.m. Saturday.
The alleged victim was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was
treated for a head laceration.
Police are also investigating a report by a female
student who said she was battered by a male acquaintance at approximately
6 p.m. Friday in her residence on David Ross Road. The alleged victim
told police she was uninjured.
Fosnaugh said the reports are all under investigation
and that nobody has been charged. Anyone with information can call the
Purdue Police at 494-8221.
