PSG uses tactics to prevent reform

This week, Purdue students will have the opportunity to vote both for their next student body president and vice president, but also for a referendum that will help reshape student government and the way it represents the students.

The way PSG exists and operates today is very inefficient and grossly misrepresents the student body. To change this, PSG designed an Internal Review Committee. This committee spent several months investigating how student government works and how it can be reformed to represent the students better.

The PSG Senate refuses to acknowledge or accept the Internal Review Committee's proposal. They are using every tactic available to keep reform from happening. We can all agree that PSG needs reform. However, the senators who are supposed to represent you, the students, are stopping this from occurring.

Any changes that can help PSG represent the students better deserve respect, attention and consideration from the Senate. Students need to speak up and let their senators know they will not stand for being misrepresented. By voting yes for this referendum, you can let your voices be heard and help much needed change happen within the structure of PSG. Vote on SSINFO today and Friday for this referendum and let your senators know that you want to be truly represented.
