Use of birth control causes debateI would like to respond to Marc Gretencord's March 29 letter on his theory "taking the pill denies your own chance at life." With that thought process, one could argue that you are denying your child a chance at life because you aren't having promiscuous sex. Unless you are having oodles of sex, spreading your seed and maximizing the percentage of your little sperm finding a loving egg, then you, sir, are denying millions of your children what you call their "first priority," which is to be born. Furthermore, you should quit school and have sex 16 hours a day; of course, you'll be tired and need eight hours of sleep. I mean why get an education to get a good job? Even you stated, "what good is having a good job to support your kids with if you are not giving your children a chance to life?" So I plead with you, go: spread your seed, please. You have been Emerson with great theory, now please be Thoreau and live it true. Disclaimer: I am a conservative and none of the above necessarily supports my views. Jeremy Mackling |
