Fans should directly support teams

First of all, a huge congratulations to the women's basketball team on a fantastic season! You have done so much that all of us at Purdue should be so proud of you.

However, I am disappointed in our students. Maybe it wasn't talked about enough, but Sunday, our women's team played for a national championship — a national championship about four and a half hours away. I wish that more students at Purdue had taken the time and energy to drive down to St. Louis and support the team that way instead of lighting fires and destroying property. It would have been a lot more helpful and worthwhile since Notre Dame had quite a large student section.

Thank you to those who did make it including the Reamers, cheerleaders, band and all the loyal fans who are at every game.
