Trash doesn't biodegrade faster on Purdue campusI was sitting on the Purdue Mall Wednesday, as were many people, enjoying the great weather. There were also two girls that had a white paper bag full of their trash sitting in the middle. And correct me if I am wrong, but I am not sure if dumping your trash over the Purdue Mall is eco-friendly. But the two girls, who did exactly that, must have thought Styrofoam cups and bowls, plastic utensils and napkins biodegrade faster on the lawn of the Purdue Mall. Silly girls! But I am sure that the guy who got bombarded with used napkins and paper cups on his face while he lay sleeping really appreciated the girls' effort to do good. Well, being the "not throwing your trash anywhere anytime" kinda guy, I asked them if they were going to pick up their trash. And they looked up at me as if I had interrupted some ritual sunbathing. They said, "Later, when we get up." Well, if later means never, then they did it later. These conceited, selfish girls, who didn't bother to pick up after themselves, left the trash spread all over the lawn and over that poor guy's face. Thank you girls. Two of a kind. If you don't like to dump a bag of trash on your carpet at home, DON'T DO IT ON CAMPUS! Ashish Bhandari |
