Track team sets record
for split medley relay
The men's track and field team will bring home
a new school record from the Texas Relays in the split medley relay.
The relay team comprised of Prentice Stovall, Shaun Guice, Markus Williams
and Matt Hartman's time of 3:22.86 won second place and stole a place
in the Purdue record book.
"Those guys worked extremely hard to up their time
from last year," head coach Mike Poehlein said. "I am extremely proud
of the effort they put forth."
Guice also placed second in the invitational high
jump with a mark of 2.22m/7-3.25. Ryan Fitzpatric was seventh in the
event with a mark of 2.10/10.75.
Senior Chris Brown placed second in the hammer
throw with a mark of 65.74m/215-8.00 and Igor Kirin was fourth in the
event with a mark of 61.36m/201-4.00. Nick Swathwood was third in the
shot put with a mark of 17.45/57-5.00.
