Boilermakers hope for win

From Staff Reports

Purdue's women's tennis team travels to South Bend, Ind., to face Notre Dame's Fighting Irish this afternoon.

Purdue (3-12, 0-4 Big Ten) will look to knock off the seventh ranked Irish (19-4, 3-0 Big East).

Notre Dame is on a four-match winning streak and the Irish are winners of nine of their last 10 competitions. The Irish feature Michelle Dasso, who is ranked fourth in the nation for singles according to the ITA college rankings. Dasso and teammate Becky Varnum pair up to form the nation's fifth-ranked doubles team.

Purdue is on a six-game losing streak. Purdue last tasted victory on March 3 in a 5-2 win over Southern Methodist University. The Boilers' most recent losses were a 4-3 failure against Minnesota Sunday and a 5-2 loss to Wisconsin Saturday. Both matches were at home.
