Student faces hit-and-run
charges
From Staff Reports
On Tuesday, Purdue police arrested a student on
charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to stop
after an accident that resulted in injury.
Clinton M. Robertson, 20, 1381 West State Street,
allegedly damaged four cars in a series of hit-and-run accidents. Capt.
Ron Fosnaugh, captain of special services for the Purdue police, said
in a release that Robertson was driving south at approximately 12:50
a.m. on McCutcheon Drive toward State Street when he allegedly swerved
and struck four parked cars.
Fosnaugh said the incident caused more than $25,000
in damage.
After the alleged accidents, Robertson went to
his apartment building where neighbors later found him injured and unconscious,
said Fosnaugh in the release.
Robertson was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center
and tests indicated his blood alcohol content was 0.24, which is more
than twice the Indiana legal limit.
