Jischke fails to meet expectationsCan we fire Jischke? Since the new president arrived on the scene here at Purdue, we've seen quite a few things go wrong. We've seen him sign on with the communist Workers' Rights Consortium, the University began scheduling Monday night exams, our parking rates are going up, and I'm waiting for another tuition increase announcement. Our traditions are withering on the vine and now our beautiful fountains will be fenced off to protect neglected children from poor parenting. Purdue's administration did not stand up for our students, graduate students and associate professors when West Lafayette (including Purdue students' representative Brad Windler) took the first step to eliminate house rental on Tuesday. The students at Iowa State didn't like him, and I don't either. Matthew L. Plomin |
