Track teams spend time in California

The men's and women's track teams competed at the Mount Sac Relays and Pomona-Pitzer Invite in California this weekend.

Krissy Liphardt placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.8 and finished second in the 400 with a time of 53.91.

Barbara Wenger was fourth in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 10:22.75.

Serene Ross won the javelin throw with a mark of 153-6 and was seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 185-6. Janelle Johnson was fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 38-5 1/2.

The 400 relay (47.19) and the 1,600 relay (3:52.88) teams both placed third.

On the men's side, Chris Brown was second in the hammer throw with a mark of 211-11. Brown was eighth in the shot put with a mark of 55-5 3/4. Swathwood was ninth in the shot with a toss of 55-2 1/4.

In the 400, Matt Hartman was eighth with a time of 48.22. Jeff Minks was 11th with a time of 48.48.
