Graduate gives advice to students

I am writing this letter because in two short weeks I will be a college graduate. When I sat down and began to think about college, it truly has been the best years of my life. The following is a list of the do’s, the do not's, and the do but don’t get caught doing that I believe one should encounter before leaving Purdue. I would like all to know that in no way am I claiming to have done any of the following acts.

First the do’s. One should eat at the dorms once, just so you can really appreciate mom’s cooking. Pull an all night study affair; this will help teach not to procrastinate. Take Management 484, it’s the best class the University offers. Meet lots of new people and friends. See Bruce on a Thursday night. Get season football tickets and tailgate.

These are some of the do not's … get caught cheating on a test. Do not take POL SCI 141 … its sucks. Try not to go to class with a hangover. Do not get arrested … road crew sucks … that’s what I heard. And, of course, do not drop out and become a Taco Bell employee.

These are things I would encourage one to do, just don’t get caught. Do drive a car on the Hello Walk in the mall. Do drive under the Math Building. Do splash someone on a rainy day … this is classic and good for many laughs. Do go to a dance with one date and hook up with another. Do have sex in Krannert … haha! And, of course, run through all the fountains … even if they have fences!

To all the graduating seniors congrats and best of luck. I will miss many of you! Looking back this has been one hell of a ride and it’s finally over.
