Boiler track team loses
meet to Hoosiers at Bloomington
The Purdue women's track and field team was very
close to winning an outdoor championship Sunday in Bloomington. But
home track became a major factor and a talented Indiana squad took the
glory. The Boilermakers trailed the Hoosiers by 18.50 points to finish
second at the meet with a point total of 122.50.
Senior Angela Craft played a major part in Purdue's
success on Sunday. After being victorious in the heptathlon Saturday,
Craft won the 400m hurdles with an NCAA provisional time of 58.37. She
was also a part of the women's 4x400m team (Angela Anoliefoh, Kim Jordan
and Krissy Liphardt) that won with a time of 3:39.01.
Anoliefoh and Jordan were also top scorers in their
respective events, the high jump and 800m run. Anoliefoh was fifth in
the high jump with a mark of 1.70m/5-7.00. Jordan was second in the
800m with a time of 2:08.84.
In the distance events, Kim Snyder and Julie Sennott
added points for Purdue. Snyder was fifth in the 5,000m run with a time
of 17:23.22. Sennott finished eighth in the 1,500m run with a time of
4:39.97.
