Sale begins today for single-game football tickets

Single game football tickets go on sale today, and the Purdue Ticket Office has provided an additional option for ordering them this year.

In addition to being able to purchase single-game tickets at the ticket window or over the telephone, Boilermaker football fans can purchase tickets online as of 10 a.m. this morning.

According to ticket office manager George Ade, utilizing the Purdue Web site to purchase tickets has several advantages.

"The Web page will walk you through different steps and pages and you can even view and select your seats," Ade said.

Aside from the convenience of being able to purchase tickets from the comfort of your own home, Ade said time is another advantage.

"It's a system that can be accessed 24 hours a day," said Ade.

In the past, season ticket holders were able to renew their orders for season tickets online, but this is the first time tickets were available for purchase electronically.

Another new feature this year is the manner in which student season ticket holders can order tickets.

New this year, students can no longer check a box on their fee statement for the order of season tickets. However, students can order them through SSINFO, and the order will appear on the first fee statement they receive.

However, time is running out for this student option, as Ade said the deadline for SSINFO orders is July 5.

"If they don't do that, they will not have the chance to buy them on the fee statement," said Ade.

Most students should have received a reminder in the form of a Purdue football postcard with ordering details by now.

The ticket office began accepting student season tickets orders in April and 8,500 Purdue students have already ordered.

Those hoping to buy single-game tickets for the Sept. 15 Notre Dame game must wait until the student deadline passes, as the in-state showdown with the Fighting Irish is the only home game that is not available for purchase today. The students have until after the first week of classes in August to purchase season tickets.

"We're protecting student season ticket sales, which includes Notre Dame," said Ade. "Anything left would go on sale Aug. 27."
