Turn fountains into parking lots

I have a great solution to the fountain issue ... If Purdue officials want to pout like little kids and not turn the fountains on at all because nobody likes their fence idea, I say rip the eye sores out and install something we could all use like student parking. Not "A" permit, not "B" permit, no parking spaces saying "No Parking", just good old fashioned student parking spaces. The way I see it, fountains are beautiful things; students can sit and enjoy the relaxing splish-splash of the water, and feel the mist when the wind blows. But if your just going to let them sit there lifeless, it becomes a detraction. So, if the powers that be are so determined to protect ourselves from ourselves, why not eliminate the objects in question entirely and give the campus something it really needs.
