Assistant women's golf coach
hired
Devon Brouse, head golf coach and Purdue director
of golf operations has announced the hiring of Christie Hermes as an
assistant womens golf coach. Hermes joined the staff on July 1,
replacing Rayma Fisher.
"We are excited to have Christie on our staff,"
Brouse said. "Her people skills should be a tremendous asset in our
endeavors to recruit top student-athletes to our program."
"Im very excited for this opportunity," Hermes
said. "Im really looking forward to working with the student-athletes
and helping Purdue continue its rise to the top of college golf."
Hermes, a native of Dixon, Ill., played collegiately
at Northwestern from 1998 to 2001. A three-time Academic All-Big Ten
selection, Hermes was a top-10 finisher at the Big Ten Championships
hosted by Purdue in 1999. That same year she qualified and played in
the U.S. Womens Amateur in Asheville, N.C. In 2000, she was a
member of the first team in Wildcat history to compete in the NCAA Championships.
