Police continue murder investigation

By The Associated Press
Police investigators continued to pursue leads the day after two sisters were found slain in a Purdue University campus apartment, but had no immediate suspects.

Authorities on Saturday identified those killed as Yeunkyung Woo, 31, a doctoral student in biology at Purdue, and Huo Kwung Woo, 29, of Chicago, who was visiting her sister. Both women were from South Korea, the university said.

Autopsies were conducted Saturday in Indianapolis, but investigators did not reveal the cause of the traumatic injuries the county coroner said the women suffered. The autopsy results are not expected to be released before Monday, university officials said.

Police believe the women were killed Thursday night and on Saturday were still trying to determine when they were last seen.

"It's very difficult to say what happened at this point," university spokesman Joseph Bennett said. "Right now, I know the Purdue police, who are being assisted by a number of other agencies, including the FBI, are pursuing some leads, but they have not identified a suspect."

The women were found fully clothed and no sign of forced entry was found at the apartment, police said.

The women's bodies were found by another student Friday morning after Yeunkyung Woo failed to show up for a scheduled lab session.
