| Purdue fails in handling murder aftermath I was very disappointed in Purdue's handling of the murder that recently happened on campus. I agree that it was necessary to keep certain information about the case from the public until they had the suspect in custody and could question him. That part was handled well. Everything else was not. Specifically, the office of international studies sent out multiple e-mails to only international students telling them about the situation and if they needed anything, let them know. Why only internationals? Do they think that the domestic students are so conditioned to murder and violence they are immune? Many other things were also mishandled, such as the information meeting for Purdue Village residents, which provided no information. If the University wants to even attempt to have the appearance of caring about the students, they need to try a little harder. Strike one, Mr. President. Rachel Cefalu Graduate Student |
