Office postpones sale of tickets

Originally, the Athletic Ticket Office planned to begin selling single-game tickets for the Sept. 15 Purdue-Notre Dame game in Ross-Ade Stadium today. However, those plans have been changed to accommodate procrastinating season ticket purchasers.

"If we went ahead with single-game sales of Notre Dame tickets, we would run the risk of running short for fans who want to see all six games in Ross-Ade Stadium," ticket manager George Ade said. "We have to protect those tickets for all fans, including students just getting back to campus."

Tickets for the Purdue-Notre Dame game will be "protected" until as late as game day, Ade said, and a determination will be made in the coming days whether to hold the remaining Notre Dame tickets until game day.

Thus far, approximately 42,000 season tickets have been sold for games in the 67,332-seat stadium. Last year 43,700 season tickets were sold.

Season tickets are $72 for students, $154 for faculty and staff and $192 for the public. A south end zone season ticket is available for just $120.

Students can buy a Platinum Card package, which includes passes to every intercollegiate sporting event at Purdue, for $178. A Gold Card ticket package, which guarantees the holder admission to every sport other than men's basketball, is $90.

The ticket office, open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, is located in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility and can be reached by phone at (765) 494-3194 or (800) 49-SPORT. Fans can renew season tickets online at purduesports.com by clicking on "Tickets" on the left side of the page.
