Beering Drive reopens after construction

From staff
and University reports

Steven C. Beering Drive, west of Ross-Ade Stadium, reopened to traffic Monday afternoon.

The road's been closed since February so the segment that runs adjacent to the stadium could be relocated in preparation for the Ross-Ade renovation project that will begin after this year's football season.

A new east to west, two-way street named Victory Drive has been constructed just north of the stadium.

Beering Drive from Cherry Lane to Victory Drive is a two-way street, but Beering Drive changes to a one-way, southbound road next to Ross-Ade between Victory and Tower drives. A new stop sign is in place at the intersection of Beering and Victory drives where the one-way designation begins.

Sidewalks along Beering Drive are not completed, so pedestrians should use the University Street and Hilltop Apartments' sidewalks west of the stadium.
