Teachers should speak with cautionI am writing this letter to the teacher in Heavilon who felt the need to share her personal feelings about the tragedy with those of us in listening range. I was sitting in a classroom in Heavilon, about five minutes before class started, along with several classmates as well as students from the previous class. The teacher from the previous class was still in the room, packing up, and felt the need to share with us her opinion. I don't recall her exact words, but I do recall, "America finally got what it deserved." She went on to say (in so many words) that America could only treat people badly for so long, and it was about time someone did something about it. I found this very disturbing and my response to her outburst is this: "Think before you talk." Many innocent people died on Tuesday and she had no idea if their family and friends were sitting in that classroom. I was very disappointed to see this lack of thought and consideration displayed by a teacher, and I hope that next time she will choose her words, time and place more carefully.
