Professor commends student determination

I want to publicly commend my Spanish 301 class (04.01/10:30 a.m.). The University offered them the opportunity to contradict the person(s) who placed Wednesday's bomb threat by re-scheduling the class and they accepted the challenge with real determination. The urgency of the moment caused the new room to be incorrectly announced but, with the help of the staff in Johnson Hall, they found it anyway and we had our regular class with normal attendance. The action of my class constitutes a mighty, albeit unspoken, message to the unmentionables who placed the bomb threat. It came through without the faintest doubt.

My class told them, "You will NOT prevent us from realizing our purpose in being at Purdue." I was pleased and proud to see their message sent.

Alan Garfinkel,

Professor of Spanish and Education
