Students should study major they enjoyThis is in response to Mr. Peter. Mr. Peter, Peter, if I may, I believe that you should do us (engineers and Purdue students in general) a favor by shutting your yapper. In addition, I find it quite impressive you could determine my GPA was a 1.5 from simply reading a half way ridiculous letter I wrote to the Exponent. You sound more like a psychic than an engineer, maybe you sir, are in the wrong job. I think you should consider getting job counseling. By the way, my GPA is 229.333 percent higher than you predicted. My earlier letter to the Exponent was simply getting across that engineering is not always awesome, and in some positions, quite tedious and boring. I got that information from my experiences, and what lots of other people told me. If you truly want to be an engineer, go for it. I'm just trying to get across that people should do what makes them happy, whether that's being an engineer or an art major. In conclusion, don't take my word or Matt's word, go find out for yourself. Get yourself an internship and see what your boss does and the people around you do. If you think it's cool, great, you're already in the right direction, if not, by all means get out. Brent Robbins Junior, Schools of Engineering |
