Bomb threats waste assets, other's time

I'd like to comment on the recent bomb threats at Purdue. How immature can you be? One of the most heinous acts of terrorism ever to occur on American soil has brought New York, the American economy and the United States population to its knees. It will haunt our minds for decades to come. We can't fathom the number of people affected by this tragedy, and you use it as a reason to pull an asinine practical joke and call in a bomb threat? You are no better than those that began this hell. If your intent is to skip class, then skip. Just leave the rest of us alone. WE'RE here to learn. You're here to waste money, whether your own or your parents who once thought you might have made them proud. How wrong they were.

This immaturity consumes valuable resources that could be better applied elsewhere, towards something more important than your brash stupidity.

Threats may seem insignificant, but they can't be ignored. Every threat must be treated as being valid because we cannot risk the lives of others by just assuming it's another prank. They must be investigated, which takes time, money and personnel and detracts from our valuable class time. With a campus this large, classes must be planned very meticulously, and your private little "joke" thoughtlessly throws off hundreds of people's hard work.

You are the type of people that we strive not to become. We are here to educate ourselves so that our future holds something more than a complete lack of dignity and regard for the human race. We are here as members of society. If you can't abide by the constraints of common courtesy and learn to respect other human beings, then do us all a favor. Leave.
