Students shouldn't blame MuslimsI am writing not only in response to what one student wrote about another's remarks towards a Muslim, but I am also writing about a story that was told to me by a friend. She was told that a girl saw a Muslim girl or a girl she assumed to be Muslim because of the religious garments she was wearing wearing a shirt that stated "It has started," BEFORE the bombings happened, on the day of the bombings. Now I ask not only the person who said this, but the people who are out there assuming so much, do you ASSUME that all Muslims knew this was going to happen before it did? Do you ASSUME since my father was Saudi Arabian that I am a terrorist too? Nothing is accomplished my fellow Americans from looking at every Muslim and wondering if they are a terrorist or a threat to our freedom. We are all human before we are Americans, so instead of pointing fingers, lets reach out to our Muslim friends. They made the choice a long time ago to come to this great nation for one reason or another. They love America just as much as we do! It starts with you, my fellow students. Let's show these terrorist that our support reaches across all genders, religions, ethnicities and creeds. Let's show the world how America can stand on her own with all the diversity that she shares! Let's show the world that we turn to love instead of hate when tragedies happen!
