Basketball team fills all scholarship spots

The Purdue men's basketball team received a verbal commitment from Chris Booker of Tyler (Texas) Junior College earlier this week.

Booker, a 6 foot 10 inch center/forward, averaged 10.3 points and 9.3 rebounds as a freshman. He chose Purdue over Texas Tech.

Booker’s commitment fills all of Purdue’s available scholarships for 2002.

Making earlier verbal commitments were Matt Kiefer of Evansville Mater Dei High School, Melvin Buckley of South Holland High School in Thornwood, Ill., and David Teague, an Indiana All-Star from Indianapolis Pike High School.
