Megadeth adds Iced Earth as opening act for show

From Staff Reports

Iced Earth has been added to the Megadeth tour that will be in Lafayette on Nov. 3.

The Florida-based band was formed in 1984 under the name Purgatory. It changed its name to Iced Earth and released its self-titled debut in 1991. Its 1996 release, "The Dark Saga," was based on the comic book "Spawn" and featured artwork by the comic's creator, Todd McFarlane.

Its new album "Horror Show" was released over the summer and is influenced by classic Hollywood monsters such as Dracula and Wolfman.

The concert will be at 8 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Riehle Brothers Tavern, 2270 Concord Road Lafayette. The show is open to all ages.
