Senate to discuss grade
designation
From Staff Reports
The University Senate will meet at 2:30 p.m. today
in Stewart Center, Room 302 to discuss the withdraw/failing grade designation
and to hear a presentation from provost Sally Frost Mason.
Linda Mason, professor of entomology and chair
of the faculty senate, said the senate will discuss changing the withdraw/failing
grade. The change would eliminate the failing aspect of the grade and
remove it from a student's graduation index in their grade point average.
Mason also said the provost would be the guest
speaker at the senate meeting. She said Frost Mason will discuss her
priorities and plans for her first year as provost. The strategic plan
will also probably be discussed.
During the meeting, the faculty senate will also
hear reports from some standing committees and will discuss a revised
constitution for Purdue's North Central campus so it can eventually
become autonomous.
