The rebellious music of the heavy metal band Disturbed is coming at 7 tonight to Riehle Brothers equipped with opening rock bands Drowning Pool, Stereomud, Adema and Systematic.
The show is general admission.
Disturbed was the product of an established band paired with a vocalist. Longtime friends, guitarist Dan Donegan, bassist Fuzz and drummer Mike Wengren enlisted singer David Draiman in 1997.
Draiman, who grew up in a religious family from which he rebelled, found release for his aggression in the music that he created with the band, according to a statement.
"The Sickness," the band's debut album, spawned singles that saw MTV airtime such as "Stupify" and "Down with the Sickness."
According to Tom Riehle, owner of Riehle Brothers, the show might be another sell-out.
"We're pretty close to sell-out now," said Riehle. "Ticketmaster just sent the last 70 or 80 tickets."
Matt Squadroni, a senior in the School of Technology, saw Disturbed over the summer when it headlined the second stage for the Ozz Fest Tour.
"Their music is emotional a lot of people think it's just yelling," said Squadroni.
According to Squadroni, the versatile band blends instruments beautifully and can amply achieve a variety of sounds.
"At some points their songs almost sound like techno, but then it shifts to metal," said Squadroni.
Although he can't make the show, he's sure that it will please fans of Disturbed as well as everyone else.
"They gave their shock value," said Squadroni.
Riehle agrees that the show would not be one to miss.
"We're really fortunate to have them," said Riehle.
· Tickets are available at the Riehle Brother's ticket office and are $27.50 each. Riehle Brothers is located at 2270 Concord Road in Lafayette. Doors for the show open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.
